And you're off...

Things to do when you first get to campus:

Take walks. Walk from Hillel to different places on campus - the Union, different residence halls and Greek houses, coffee shops. Get to know the lay of the land, see where students and other people spend their time.

Order business cards.

Learn how to use the UT directory and the Texas Hillel Database- your two new best friends!

Take a tour of campus - call the Admissions office to find out specifics about dates and times.

Begin gathering non-student University contacts and setting up meetings.

Some people to introduce yourself to: Grant Kirk (Towers), Harrison Hemphill and Ben Modleski (Castalian), Nina Stallings (Dobie), Betty Jeane Wolfe (Greek Life Office), and Christa Sandelier (area coordinator Jester).

Re-organize and re-decorate your office.

Look at the yearbooks of past fellows.

Have an honest talk with Margo about the history of this Hillel, job expectations and your goals for this year.

Find out about doctors, dentists, and hair salons and most impotrantly for me, how to get to the mall!!

- and about places to get things you might need for work (office supply stores, craft stores, supermarkets).

Call or meet some of the student leaders and introduce yourself.
